As you have no doubt heard on the news or read online by now, the rapid rise of the Omicron variant has meant new or renewed restrictions in the larger community around BC. At the moment, our current protocols within the Diocese of BC, however, have not changed. We have done well following our protocols which were a little more restrictive than the Province was recommending before the arrival of Omicron, so with this new update our Christmas season will proceed as we had planned. As a reminder, we are asking the following:

  • If you are feeling unwell in any way, please stay home.
  • Masking is mandatory at all times when indoors (with the exception of those presiding over the service, rare medical reasons, and when taking communion.)
  • While we are not asking for proof of vaccination to attend in-person services, we are reminding everyone that if you are not yet fully vaccinated, please stay home and attend services via Zoom, instead.
  • We are setting up our hall with social distancing and 50% capacity in mind, which caps our services at 40 partipants, including celebrant and pianist.
  • We are not asking for reservations to attend services, they are on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Please santize your hands upon arrival, BEFORE signing in.
  • We are not permitted to socialize or move around within the church building, linger, or visit in the hallways. Please go directly to your seat, remain there for the service, and kindly exit in a safe manner at the conclusion of the service. If you wish to socialize, please do so outside of the building, keeping in mind safer social distancing and other provincially recommended protocols.

Please stay safe this holiday season and we at St Philip, Cedar wish you good health and joy this holiday season.
